What's Included

WHAT OUR PRICE INCLUDES:
All our prices contained in this price list are for the rental of the appropriate villa/apartment per week and according to season. Included in this rent are electricity, gas, water, and linen. (linen is laundered once weekly), maid service as detailed in our brochure, welcome hamper (chargeable on discounted holidays, if required), pool maintenance and the services of our local representative or agents. All facilities offered i.e. air conditioning at no extra charge, welcome hamper and maid service as stated are based on brochure priced booking. On discounted holidays, the air-conditioning/heating and welcome hamper are chargeable and maid service will be twice weekly

NOT INCLUDED: transfers to your villa from the airport, car hire, insurance and flight costs.

WEBSITE ACCURACY:
We always go to great lengths to ensure that the contents of our website are as accurate as possible. If we become aware of any changes that might affect your holiday, we will advise you at the time of booking. If however, changes take place after you have booked, we undertake to advise you of any changes, which would materially affect your holiday, in writing as soon as reasonably possible prior to departure.

YOUR VILLA:
All our villas are equipped with crockery, cutlery and utensils for the maximum number of people as specified in the description. All villas have either gas (bottled) or electric hobs, oven or cooker, refrigerator or fridge/freezer, washing machine. All these items are standard equipment and are therefore not mentioned in our brochure description. Unless stated, other facilities such as pool lights, air-conditioning are not available. All villas are provided with bed linen and towels (but not beach towels) and are changed weekly. Our maid service is excellent and is featured according to house or resort. In Mallorca, unless otherwise stated in our brochure, all 4 and 5 point houses enjoy daily maid service with the exception of Sundays and public holidays.  On the Algarve of Portugal our maid service is 5 times weekly except public holidays and elsewhere it is clearly stated in our brochure description.
Maid duties are to make beds, clean bathrooms and generally tidy and sweep around. They unfortunately do not have time to wash up or clean barbecues. They undertake one major clean per week, usually on change over day or in case of two-week bookings, the day before change over day.
As many of our villas are situated in residential areas and where your neighbours may be local business people who do not rent out their houses for holiday accommodation, we kindly request that you respect their peace and privacy. Loud noise, such as shouting, music etc, should be discouraged during late afternoon (siesta time) and late night when such disturbance may cause a complaint from you neighbour.
Selecting the perfect villa is not always easy and while we have endeavoured to help you with your choice by way of our house point system and information boxes, there is no official star rating for holiday villas. Whilst we try to be as honest as possible in our brochure description, these are only our opinions and one persons favourite villa may not be someone else's!
ALL BOOKINGS ARE TAKEN AT OUR DISCRETION AND IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES A VILLA DEPOSIT OF 250 pounds (minimum) MAY BE REQUIRED.

GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO VACATE THEIR ACCOMMODATION BY 10AM ON DAY OF DEPARTURE TO FACILITATE CLEANING AND SERVICING PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF INCOMING GUESTS.
Villas may not be available until 4pm on the day of arrival as they have to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared. In most cases however, you may be able to leave your luggage at the property if you have an early arrival, whilst the maid prepares the house for you.

EXTRA BEDS:
An extra bed can sometimes be added to a villa with the owner's permission and these are charged at £50 per bed per week.
The owners reserve the right to visit their property at any time and gain access to undertake essential maintenance work, pool cleaning and gardening.
Only those persons named on the booking form shall be allowed to occupy the accommodation and under no circumstance may the maximum number of persons stated in the villa description be exceeded, without prior permission from Villa Select Ltd.

SWIMMING POOLS:
As nearly all of our villas have private swimming pools, we take the utmost care of employing a professional team of swimming pool maintenance personnel in each of our resorts. This ensures that swimming pools are kept in tiptop condition throughout the summer season. It must be remembered however, that villa pools are by design usually only 8-12 metres in length and if used by a considerable number of persons covered in oils and creams they easily become unbalanced, particularly in high season of July and August. Clients with young children are recommended therefore to take with them some ear drops purchased from their pharmacy, as the combination of chemicals and sun can make young ears prone to infection.

VILLA SECURITY:
To assist you in the protection of your valuables the majority of our properties have strong boxes fitted . We strongly advise the use of this facility, particularly for cash, credit cards, jewellery, passports, cameras etc. In Mallorca there is a small rental for the hire of the key to these mini safes as this validates the insurance attached to this service. To enable the key to be available on your arrival, would you please indicate that this service is required by ticking the appropriate box on the booking form.

ELECTRICITY:
In all of our resorts electric current is 220 volts. With the exception of Cyprus, which uses UK style 3 pin plugs, we recommend that you take a travel plug adapter with you (available from electrical stores or duty free shops), as most plug sockets require 2 pin plugs.

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES:
Many of our owners are installing dishwashers, televisions (many with satellite facility) and other electrical appliances to add to you holiday enjoyment. These appliances are clearly detailed in each villa description. Whilst we endeavour to have them serviceable throughout our summer season, as with all electrical appliances they do occasionally fail, due in most cases to lack of understanding of their operation Villa Select therefore, whilst promising to have any such appliance repaired as soon as possible , cannot be held responsible for the lack of facility. As with the UK, engineers do have a specified call out pattern and it may take up to 7 days before a visit can be arranged or part ordered. An electric fan per bedroom will be provided at properties that do not have air conditioning. Additional fans can be hired at £10 per fan per week.

SATELLITE TV:
Whilst the majority of our villa owners have installed televisions with satellite facilities, since the abolition of the Sky analogue system in June of 2001, there is now no Sky facility available in these properties. In Spain i.e. our resorts of Mallorca, Menorca and Javea some of our owners have installed a Spanish digital system. This offers a small selection of English channels and whilst it is impossible to pin point exactly what you may receive in any particular villa, BBC I, BBC2, Sky News, Eurosport and a cartoon channel are often available. Where a digital system is installed this is clearly stated in the villa description. Where the website states (limited channels only) these are usually only European channels available mostly in German, which offer a wide range of programmes. Some local channels may also be available; the only English speaking channels that may be available are CNN/CNBC News channels. The Eurosport channels will be mainly in German. Unfortunately, clients and particularly children do try to access channels which are simply not available and break the decoder/remotes. In this instance the cost of such a repair will be charged directly to the client. In Cyprus all local television channels are satellite and are in Greek. If any channels are available in English, these will be displayed clearly at each property.

DVD PLAYERS All of our villas have a DVD player installed for your added enjoyment. We do NOT however provide any discs and clients should bring their own selection with them on holiday.

SONY PLAYSTATION 2 In a limited number of villas we have installed a Sony Playstation 2 for your family entertainment. WE DO NOT PROVIDE GAMES for these systems and once again these should be brought with you.

PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS:
If you are a British citizen you will need a full 10 year passport to travel. Please check that it will be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your return from holiday. Please do this at an early stage as it can take 4-6 weeks at busy times to get a new one from the passport office. Forms are now only available from the post office. If you are travelling by air, do make sure that your passport, if not already included on their parents passports. Children aged 16 and over or wives and children travelling alone must have their own passport.

If you are planning a visit to Cyprus and have a Turkish Cypriot stamp in your passport, you should contact the consulate or Cyprus High Commission, as it may be necessary for you to obtain a supplementary passport.

PASSPORT REGULATIONS CONCERNING CHILDREN:
With effect from the 5th October 1998, ALL children who were not already included on a valid 10 year passport, will need to hold their own passport if they are to travel abroad. It is now not possible to add or include children on British passports. This includes newborn babies and all children up to the age of 16 year. Children aged 16 years and over already have to hold their own passports and are unaffected by these changes. Children who are already included on the existing passport may continue to travel with the passport holder until one of the following occurs.
1.The child reaches the age of 16.
2.The passport on which the child is included expires.
3.The passport on which the child is included is submitted for amendment.
Further details can be obtained from the Post Office, Passport Agency or ourselves.

VISA REQUIREMENTS:
At the time of publication of this website no visas were necessary for British Citizens to any of our destinations featured in this programme.

Anyone who is not a British Citizen should consult the embassy of the country of destination to check whether they require any special documentation.

SPAIN - The Consulate General, Visa Section, Visa Info: Tel 0207 589 8989. Monday-Friday 9.30 - 12 noon

PORTUGAL - Portuguese Consulate, Tel: 0207 5818722. Monday-Friday 9.00 - 13.30 hrs.

CYPRUS - Cyprus High Commission, Tel: 0207 6295350. Monday-Friday 9.30 - 13.00 hrs.

HEALTH MATTERS:
At the time of publication of this brochure, no compulsory vaccinations were needed for travel to any of our destinations if you are a British Citizen. If you are not a British Citizen or if you have been exposed to any infections or contagious disease, you should check with your doctor and the relevant consulate. General standards of hygiene and safety in other countries may differ from those in the UK. You should therefore exercise greater care, particularly with the choice of food and drink.

BUILDING WORKS:
Many resorts are still developing and building works and the associated noise element can be a problem occasionally at any of our properties. A neighbour may decide to drill a well for water or start an extension at his property at any time of the year. As all of our properties are individually owned, all such action is naturally outside of our control and we never receive advance notice of when it will begin. However, where we are aware of any building work, which may reasonably be considered to adversely affect your enjoyment, we will notify you as soon as possible.
If necessary and possible, we will offer you the opportunity to transfer to an alternative villa of the same or higher standard at the advertised price, or cancel the holiday without penalty. If the situation arises during your stay please inform our representative immediately and we will endeavour to have work stopped. If this is not possible, we will do everything in our power to move you to alternative accommodation, unfortunately, particularly in high season this may not be possible. Whilst we assure you of our best endeavours to minimise the inconvenience, we regret that this is a 'force majeure' situation and we cannot accept liability in this case.

WATER:
Water shortages and pressure reductions may occasionally occur in high season and supplies may be cut off without notice. In Javea a new desalination plant is due to open early in 2002 which will hopefully resolve any previous problems of water shortages in this area. Although completely safe to drink, such water does often taste slightly salty and we recommend that you use bottled water for drinking and making ice.

UNWELCOME GUESTS:
Mosquito's, ants and other insects are endemic in warmer climates and particularly in the country areas. Whilst ant spray and strong fly and mosquito sprays can be purchased in all supermarkets locally, you may care to take with you some 2-pin plug mosquito repellents (available from large chemists and duty free shops). Dogs and cats, unlike in the UK, seem to roam around unattended and we would ask you not to feed these as they will remain after you have departed and incoming guests may be allergic or find them disagreeable. These sorts of aggravations, together with barking dog, are unfortunately unavoidable. Should they happen we ask your patience and understanding.

VILLA SELECT - ALWAYS AT YOUR SERVICE:
We are very proud of our overseas teams, which are made up of people who have lived in the area for many years and really understand the area, its culture and attractions. Villa Select's motto is to provide the highest standard of service without intrusion on your privacy. You will be visited in your villa by one of our representatives to check that you are comfortable and that everything is to your satisfaction. In all resorts we provide a 24 hour emergency telephone number and this should only be used please for severe emergencies, where a doctor or one of the emergency services is required. During the course of the day all of our representatives are contactable by either their office or mobile phone to ensure your holiday enjoyment.
Every villa has its own villa book filled with useful information on the villa itself and the local area. The villa book is carefully prepared by the local representative and will tell you everything you need to know from how to change a gas bottle to how to find the nearest beach and much more. Our 'meet and greet' airport service is available to clients who have booked car hire and/or taxi transfers through Villa Select.

LONG STAY HOLIDAYS:
All our holidays are available in multiples of one week's duration. Whilst the majority of our clients stay for one or two weeks, we are happy to make available holiday durations of 3 and 4 weeks or longer on request.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:
At Villa Select we DO NOT OFFER travel arrangements as part of our holidays. We are first and foremost a villa accommodation holiday provider (ABTA member WO389). We are happy however, through our retail membership of ABTA (F9679) to quote clients who have firstly reserved their villa accommodation from us for flights, car hire and taxi transfers. At your request we will provide you with details of suitable flights from your local airport and competitive car hire rates etc. Villa Select will be acting strictly, as an agent for the transport provider and flights will be booked with ABTA members who hold an ATOL license and with whom we hold a trading agreement. Flight bookings are strictly subject to that company's own booking conditions and in each case we will verbally tell you, which ATOL holder the booking is being made with and their ATOL number before the flight booking is accepted by you. Once a flight booking has been reserved by you and a deposit paid, we shall issue you an ATOL receipt, which confirms that the money for the flight is held by us on behalf of that ATOL holder. A contract will then exist between you and that ATOL holder within the terms of the Civil Aviation ATOL regulations 1972. Once that ATOL holder issues their confirmation invoice, we will send it to you as soon as we receive it. This provides financial protection for your flights under the ATOL bonding scheme. Such clients also have the financial protection of the Government Air Travel Trust as administered by Trustees appointed to the CAA. All other arrangements offered by us are provided under a separate contract from the flight arrangements.
N.B. Your attention is drawn to the ABTA Fair Trading Condition, which permits any of the flight operators to alter their advertised flight schedule by up to 12 hours before giving the clients either the right to cancel and/or compensation. Any changes to your flight itinerary or programme are out of Villa Selects control of jurisdiction. Almost every European charter flight now operates a NO SMOKING policy.
Pre-bookable seating is now available with many flight only operators. This guarantees that all members of your party sit together on both your outward and return flights.
The advantage of booking with Villa Select is that we are able in most instances to offer flights from your local airport. When accommodation is booked with us and clients make their own separate flight arrangements, our ABTA bond covers only those items of accommodation etc. purchased from us.

PREGNANCY:
Airline regulations require that a woman 28 weeks or more into pregnancy at the date of return must have a doctor's certificate containing the date of confinement and fitness to travel. Travel is not generally advised after the 28th week and is normally refused after 32 weeks.

INFANTS:
Infants under 2 years of age at the time of the return flight to the UK pay just an administration charge on all charter flights. This normally ranges from between £25-£35. Infants must travel on an adults lap and are not entitled to a baggage allowance. The hire of cots should be requested on the booking form. Infants under 2 years also have free insurance cover, provided you take out Villa Select's holiday insurance.

WHEELCHAIR ASSISTANCE:
Wheelchair assistance is available at both your departure and arrival airports, but please advise us in plenty of time as there is quite a lot of paperwork and airlines and operators do need plenty of notice.
If you are planning to take your own wheelchair, we will need the size and weight when folded.

CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE
A 2.5% charge applies to payments made by credit or charge card. Payments made by debit cards e.g. Maestro(Switch) or Visa Debit do not incur this charge.
